Frocester Festival... Music, Drinks, Food, Cricket, Fun!

The perfect 'Festival in a Day' – Saturday 27th August 2022

Live Music

It wouldn’t be Frocester Festival without a fantastic line up of brilliant live music!
Please see below for details of the superb local bands who entertained us in 2019.
We will be providing details of the lineup for 2022 shortly. We've got some really great bands booked, playing lots of new music, as well as plenty of classic songs and singalong favourites!

Friday 23rd August 2019

5pm / Kickback
Kickback are one of Gloucestershire's most popular and well established covers bands.
They've been entertaining and delighting audiences for over a decade, playing from an extensive and instantly recognisable song list, covering music from the '50s and '60s, right up to classic and more recent rock and pop songs, as well as current dance tracks.
...So something to suit everyone's taste (hopefully!).
Kickback are Jamie Ball (guitar, vocals), Steve Cowdrey (vocals), James Abraham (bass, vocals) and Simon Wynn (drums, percussion).
Each of the band members have toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe, and have a wealth of experience playing live and on recording sessions.
7pm / The Mark Walby Band
Mark Walby is also a familiar face on the Gloucestershire covers band circuit and has played with a wide variety of household names during his 20 years as a professional musician, including Cheryl Cole, The Saturdays, Jools Holland, Bastille, Belinda Carlisle, Professor Green, Katherine Jenkins, Alesha Dixon, Pendulum, Girls Aloud and Ocean Colour Scene.
The Mark Walby Band was founded with one goal in mind... to be the most energetic, crowd pleasing, hand clapping, foot stomping and unrivalled party band in the industry!
9pm / Inbetween Days
Back by popular demand, this time to headline our Friday night!
Inbetween Days are also a covers band from Gloucester, Stroud and Cirencester.
The band all met in the early part of the summer of 2010, and consist of Alan Tindale MBE (vocals), Ian Mills (guitar), Richard Culley (guitar), Kevin Ross (bass) and Rhys Elsworth (drums).
They always go down a storm with their high energy takes of popular songs from the 60s right through to the modern day.
Expect everything from the Monkees to the Beatles, Oasis to Stereophonics, The Jam to Kings of Leon, Crowded House to The Cure (yes, they do play 'Inbetween Days'!), Tom Jones to The Proclaimers, and much, much more...
We guarantee you'll be hoarse from singing at the top of your voices!!

Saturday 24th August 2019

1.30pm / The JP AllStars Brass Band
The JP AllStars are a group of fantastic local Gloucestershire musicians who come together to play great music, led by Musical Director Paul McLaughlin.
They’re a traditional brass band playing very non-traditional brass band music. Rock covers, pop songs, show tunes... you name it.
Forget marches and hymns (although they're pretty good at them too!). If you've never heard a brass band before, you'll love them. And if you've been brought up in the brass band tradition, you'll still love them.
It's the perfect way to kick-off your Saturday afternoon at the festival!
3pm / The Future Set + The No-Good Nancy's
The Future Set is a unique acoustic quintet, with a potent Folk Noir brew! They comprise Ian (acoustic guitar, vocals), Vicky (vocals, cello), Dave (acoustic guitar, vocals), Lewis (percussion) and Philippe (double bass).
They were the most popular band performing in our Chill-out Zone last year, so this year we've put them up on the main stage, to ensure more of you can hear their fantastic musicianship!
And as a special treat for our 40th Frocester, we're delighted to announce that The Future Set will be joined during part of their set by the fabulous No-Good Nancy's...!
A lively covers band from Tewkesbury, expect five-part vocal harmonies, smiles, great tunes, giggles and a lovely vibe to put you in a great mood!
5pm / Masterplan
Masterplan are a fun 5-piece guitar outfit from South Gloucestershire who play classic guitar-based indie and dance music from all eras.
Formed in 2009, the original concept was to bring Britpop back to the masses, but why stop there?! The band soon added other classic tracks to their set and now it is stronger than ever. Guaranteed to have you working out those vocal chords and wearing out your dancing shoes!
From Oasis and Blur to The Jam and The Dandy Warhols, Masterplan's set is an eclectic mix of party anthems, but don't take our word for it... come and see for yourself!
7pm / Bootleg ABBA
An absolutely brilliant and authentic ABBA tribute band! They look like them. They sound like them. And you'll have a totally fab time singing along with them to all those great ABBA tunes!
Bootleg Abba formed in 1998 and since their first concert at London's 'Forum' they have performed to great acclaim all over the world. Their concerts have seen them travel throughout the UK, Europe and along the way they have appeared on the same bill as world class entertainers Tony Christie, The Gipsy Kings and Leo Sayer.
Bootleg Abba's reputation for delivering a superior tribute show has taken them to the Middle East and as far as Kazakhstan. They've even performed at the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix alongside Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot and Adam Lambert.
And yes, they have performed at Waterloo!
9pm / Thrill Collins
We are really chuffed to announce that our headliners for Saturday night are local beer enthusiasts and skiffle-pop rascals, Thrill Collins!
This fantastic, mad-cap covers trio from Cheltenham is made up of Robbie Pert (vocals, guitar), Andrew Lansley (upright bass, backing vocals) and Pete Harper (cajon, backing vocals).
They're always a huge hit whenever they perform at Frocester, so it seemed only appropriate that we have them back to headline Saturday night on our 40th festival!
Get ready to party folks!!
