Frocester Festival... Music, Drinks, Food, Cricket, Fun!
The perfect 'Festival in a Day' – Saturday 26th August 2023
It wouldn’t be Frocester Festival without a fantastic line up of brilliant live music!
Please see below for details of the superb local acts who will be entertaining us all this year.
1.30pm / The JP AllStars Brass Band
The JP AllStars are a group of fantastic local Gloucestershire musicians who come together to play great music, led by Musical Director Paul McLaughlin.
They’re a traditional brass band playing very non-traditional brass band music. Rock covers, pop songs, show tunes... you name it!
Forget marches and hymns (although they're pretty good at them too!). If you've never heard a brass band before, you'll love them. And if you've been brought up in the brass band tradition, you'll still love them.
It's the perfect way to kick-off your Saturday afternoon at the festival!
3pm / Groove Jacks
Groove Jacks are a Blues Rock band, based in Bristol.
The 4-piece play covers from the 60s and 70s, focusing on a mix of Blues, Rock and Rock & Roll.
Think T-Rex, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, to name just a few!
4.30pm / The Jazz Friday Big Band
Jazz Friday, the big band from Stroud, Gloucestershire!
Led by musical director David Smith, you can expect to hear up to 20 musicians, as well as two vocalists, and the band's music ranges through Swing, Soul, Blues, Funk and Latin Jazz.
Luckily for us they're happy to perform on any day, but they rehearse on Fridays... hence the name!
6pm / The Dark Tones
A high energy rock and pop 4-piece from Gloucester, with fantastic male and female lead vocalists.
Helen (vocals and guitar), Paul (vocals and guitar), Dave (bass and backing vocals) and Riley (drums) play a fusion of classic rock and modern dance floor hits, making their sound both nostalgic and fresh.
8pm / Spice Up Your Life
Yep, it's a tribute to pop icons, the Spice Girls!!
The nostalgia of the 90s is on the comeback, and we've got the perfect group to spice up your Frocester Festival experience!
Rumours are rife that the Spice Girls will be reuniting soon to head out on a large-scale tour in 2023, so here's a perfect opportunity to remind yourself of all their pop classics!
We know what you want, what you really, really want!!
9.30pm / Kick The Cat
Our headliners this year are Bristol-based Kick The Cat, a highly entertaining eight-piece showband consisting of drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, trumpet, tenor sax, female vocal and male lead vocal, widely known for their tributes to the Commitments and the Blues Brothers.
Other styles included in their set are motown, funk, disco as well as a wide selection of current chart favourites, so you can be sure of finishing the night with a lively party that's guaranteed to make you want to get up and dance!
